The sandy loam and nutrient deposits of the Nile Delta create the perfect conditions for growing Camomile.  The tiny blooms, with their yellow center and white petals, have been grown in the Delta for centuries.  Over this time, thanks to the many trading and shipping routes that traversed the ancient world, people from all corners of the globe found countless uses for the flower.  For example, the ancient Greeks, who gave it its modern name (a derivative of the Greek word for "ground apple" on account of its aroma), used it like potpouri to freshen their homes.  In other parts of Southern Europe, it was often sipped for relief of health problems ranging from toothache to nervousness.  People as far away as China believed Camomile to have beneficial properties that allowed it to be a cure for headaches.  Wherever it travelled, the flower's most common use was always as a soothing drink before bed.  And it still is - Camomile's natural properties promote restfulness and good night's sleep.  The possibilities are endless.

Try this Egyptian Camomile Tea on its own or blended with cinnamon, honey, lime, dried oranges and lemon peels or peppermint!  Or, for something completely different, fill a large infuser with Camomile Tea and add it to a freshly drawn bath.  It's great for the skin and you'll never feel more relaxed!

Directions for Brewing This Egyptian Camomile Tea Hot:
